The new MJDF exam

By Guest in Dentistry on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 @ 09:48

After completing the two-year foundation training programme for dental graduates I have recently sat Part 1 of The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng).

Paper 1 includes different formats of multiple choice questions (MCQ) and multiple short answer questions in the form of extending matching questions (EMQ). As this is a new exam I was struggling find revision material until a colleague recommend EMQs for Dentistry and MCQs for Dentistry, published by PasTest. Both the books are subject based which help you brush up on your weaker areas and the answers contain really detailed explanations covering the full range of dental topics and medicine as applied to dentistry.

I found them absolutely invaluable and have just ordered OSCES for Dentistry for the Part 2 exam. I just wish these books had been available when I was a dental students it would have made revising for finals so much easier!

For information about the MJDF exam you need to go to the MJDF website: http://www.mjdf.org.uk/
The exam is only held in London, Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, and if you go to the dates section you can find out exactly when the MJDF exam is held.
You can find specimen questions in the candidation information documenr: http://www.mjdf.org.uk/docs/info_for_cand_apr09.pdf
