Online PACES Course Success Stories
By Hannah Brown in MRCP PACES on Friday, September 4, 2009 @ 12:17
Ever since we launched PacesCases, an online course for the MRCP PACES exam, in January 2009, we've wondered whether it could really replace a traditional face-to-face course. I think that it entirely depends on the doctor. Some candidates really need the focused teaching that goes with a PACES course, and learning how to present the case as well as getting used to the time constraints. Others just want to see as many cases as possible, and that's where PacesCases really comes into its own.
We've now had two diets of PacesCases candidates, and the success stories keep coming. Some attended a PasTest PACES course as well, some just worked their way through the 200 cases available online.
We love to hear how people get on, and were delighted to hear from this doctor yesterday:
Hi there
I just wanted to say how fantastic I found the Cases for PACES on Pastest. Not only did I pass first time, but I passed having been in surgical jobs for the last year and having been in general practice (where it is difficult to see the kinds of patients one needs to see for PACES) for the three weeks prior to my exam. The site was easy to use, and it provided a wealth of patients with signs and syndromes who could be seen in quick succession, thus eliminating the frustration of wasted ward work where patients wouldn't be available/would be eating/would refuse examination.
Thank you so much!
Dr Naomi Bryan (MRCP)
Please let us know how you've got on in the exams this year, especially if you've used our online PACES course!
