Laser eye surgery

After reading a BBC News article on the largely negative Which Report on laser eye surgery, specifically the ‘high street’ clinics, I thought I would give a more positive view.  I had laser eye surgery at Optimax about 7 years ago and received very comprehensive information on the options available and the potential risks.  Of course, there are risks with any surgery, and how much importance you place on them depends on how much you want or need the surgery.   

The eye consultant I saw was excellent. and answered all the subsequent questions that I thought of after the consultation promptly by e-mail.  I took the option of having one eye under-corrected to avoid the need for reading glasses and even though I do have problems with night driving, for me personally this surgery was one of the best investments I have ever made.
