Changes to the MRCPCH Part 1 Exam
By Hannah Brown in MRCPCH 1 on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 @ 09:30
The MRCPCH Part 1 Exam is changing. From January 2010 the MRCPCH 1 will have a slightly different make up of questions, with a full breakdown available on the RCPCH website.
EMQ – 12 (up from 9)
MTF – 15 (down from 25)
BoF – 48 (up from 35)
Multiple true/false questions are being phased out (in line with other Royal College exams such as MRCS), and there will be more emphasis placed on EMQs (extended matching questions) and BoFs (best of fives). As with all question types, the more you practise them before the exam, the less time you'll need to orientate yourself on the day - so get working your way through PasTest Online for MRCPCH 1, where you can choose the question types you want to revise.
